When I heard the theme for this challenge, I thought of the most stunning, iconic, and nostalgic visuals I could remember out of all the books from my childhood. I immediately thought of Charles Santore’s illustration of the Wizard of Oz, which I’ve had on my shelf for as long as I can remember. I cut up the pages of this same publication and through collage, created an homage to its intense and vibrant storytelling. I accentuated the look with chainmail accessories—a design passion I discovered during Covid that would be right at home in Oz.
